In order to use Keeping, you should already have an email address where your customers contact you. It may have an email address like help@, support@, or info@. Exactly how you connect to Keeping depends on how this email address is set up. Read on to understand the different ways you can connect it to Keeping.
If your shared email account is a dedicated Gmail or GSuite account, and you have the password, then you should choose the "Sign in with Google" option to directly connect your Gmail account to Keeping. When you do so, we'll ask for permission to read the email in your shared mailbox so we can sync it with your team.
This option is preferred as it offers the fastest and most reliable way of sync'ing of your shared mailbox to your agents.
If your shared mailbox is a Gmail Alias or Google Group, or you can't login to it directly, then you should use email forwarding to connect it to Keeping. When you choose this option, Gmail will forward a copy of every email that arrives in your shared inbox to Keeping. We'll then sync that with your team.
This is a tried and true way of connecting a shared mailbox, but it requires a little more setup. See below for instructions depending on your particular setup.

No matter how you choose to connect your mailbox to Keeping, know that Keeping is built with security and privacy as a top priority. We are hosted directly on Google's servers, and all data is encrypted both in transit and at rest. No one can read your emails unless you give them explicit permission to do so.
