What is G Suite (Google Workspace) sync?

Imagine you have two friends – one named Outlook and the other named Google Workspace. Now, you like hanging out with both of them, but sometimes it can be a bit awkward trying to coordinate plans with them separately.

You have to call one to make plans and then call the other to make sure they’re available simultaneously. It’s a hassle, right?

Well, that’s where Google Workspace Sync comes in.

Google Workspace Sync, formerly known as G Suite Sync, is a tool that allows users to synchronize their Microsoft Outlook email, contacts, calendar, and notes with their Google Workspace account.

It is a free plugin provided by Google that helps users seamlessly switch from using Microsoft Office to using Google Workspace.

How do I use G Suite (Google Workspace) sync?

You must download and install the tool on your computer to use G Suite (now Google Workspace) sync. Once installed, open Microsoft Outlook and follow these steps:

  • Launch the G Suite sync tool and sign in with your Google Workspace account.
  • Configure your settings, such as the folders you want to sync and how often to check for updates.
  • Wait for the tool to finish syncing your Google Workspace data with Outlook. This process can take some time, depending on the amount of data you have.
  • Once the sync is complete, you can use Outlook as your primary email client while accessing your Google Workspace data.
  • Any changes you make in Outlook or Google Workspace will be automatically synced between the two platforms in real time.

If you encounter any issues with the sync tool, you can troubleshoot it by checking the help center or contacting Google Workspace support.

G Suite sync is an easy and convenient way to access your Google Workspace data from Microsoft Outlook, providing a seamless and integrated experience.

Is G Suite sync free?

Yes, Google Workspace Sync is a free tool provided by Google to help users synchronize their Microsoft Outlook data with their Google Workspace account.

The tool is available for download on Google’s website and can be used by anyone with a Google Workspace account.

It’s worth noting, however, that while Google Workspace Sync is free, you may need to pay for specific features or services related to your account.

For example, if you need more storage space or additional features beyond the primary Google Workspace offerings, you may need to upgrade to a paid subscription plan.

Also, remember that Google Workspace Sync is primarily designed to work with Microsoft Outlook, so if you’re using a different email client, you may need to use a separate tool or plugin to synchronize your data with Google Workspace.

Does Google Workspace sync work with Office 365?

G Suite sync is not compatible with Office 365. The G Suite sync tool is specifically designed to synchronize Google Workspace data with the Microsoft Outlook profile, which is part of the Microsoft Office suite of applications.

That said, it may be possible to use Google Workspace Sync to synchronize with Office 365, although Google does not officially support it.

To use Google Workspace Sync with Office 365, you would need to configure your Office 365 account in Microsoft Outlook and then use Google Workspace Sync to synchronize your Microsoft Outlook data with your Google Workspace account.

This may require additional configuration or troubleshooting, as Google Workspace Sync is not designed to work with Office 365.

However, Microsoft offers a similar tool called the Office 365 Import Service that allows you to import data from Google Workspace accounts. This tool seamlessly enables users to migrate their data from Google Workspace to Office 365.
